An Easy Way for Seniors to Travel the World- By: Austin Briggs

Description : My husband and I are in our early 60s and have penny pinched our whole lives! Now it is time for us to responsibly enjoy our savings and the rest of our time on this earth to its fullest. We would like to travel with friends and enjoy places, both new and old, while we still can!

We are simply too old to mess with hooking up the 5th wheel RV and driving across the country. Heck, we live in South Texas and it takes a day to even drive out of the state! Last time we tried we ended up cracking the back camper window after a hand signal miscommunication backing into a campsite. Plus, campsites are charging in-access of 30 dollars per night just for providing electrical hookups (much less fun activities). It is getting harder to venture out on our own and not really worth the savings or the fun!

My husband was in the military for 23 years and we were stationed all over the world including Morocco, Midway Island, Okinawa, and Hawaii. Back then we could not really enjoy these amazing destinations with 4 kids in tow and a military income. Almost 40 years later we would like to go back to some of the places we never explored properly, see the changes, and talk with other retirees who have similar memories. Fortunately, we have found some great group travel deals that allow us to do just that with like-minded retirees.

The easiest way to find group travel deals with fellow baby boomers is through organizations you are already a part of. It is optimal because you already know if you enjoy interacting with the people involved and the tour operators that create and offer the packages are able to get and give great rates to groups. We went on an Alaskan cruise as well as going back to the Mediterranean for a Moroccan tour with our fellow round dancers. We also went on a Historic Holy Land tour with a church group which included our own tour guide.

The best part about it is we are traveling with friends that share a similar interest and we do not have to do any of the work or planning! Most of our groups consist of about a dozen people, and it has even been the case where we have had a group tour bus and known everyone on vacation with us! You would be amazed at how rowdy a bus of baby boomers can be! The tour leader is often someone we know as well which makes the whole experience very special.
